Step 1 Pre-Mount Garage Hooks
To begin, use 3/4″ black screws to mount Shepherd Hardware Heavy Duty Garage Hooks to a 1″ thick board , with a length of your choice. In our project we used an 8′ long board.
*Please note due to the spacing of the screw holes of garage hooks, we recommend a board with a height of 4″.
When mounting garage hooks, you can use various sizes and spacing to accommodate for all your garage tools and storage needs.
Step 2 Install Garage Hooks
Now screw your board of garage hooks to your garage wall. Check for studs! We used 2″ white screws and a magnetic stud finder, since electronic stud finders have a tendency to give false positives.
Step 3 Repeat and Stagger
Repeat the process of mounting your garage hooks to your board and then mounting the board to your garage wall. Now’s the the time to get creative! Alternate garage hook sizes and spacing as needed.
Step 4 Put the Hooks to Use
Now to organize the clutter.
